Transmech New Zealand Limited have several positions to fill in our busy Heavy Transport Engineering and Mechanical workshop, Airport Oaks Mangere, Auckland. We are manufacturers of new Light, Medium and Heavy Transport Equipment Truck build setups and trailer builds. Along with our new manufacturing, we also carry out an extensive range of repairs including certified repair work. The positions we are trying to fill require a range of skills, our workshop is a great place to learn.

• Experience in the manufacture and repair of Heavy / Light Commercial Transport Equipment
• Good fabrication skills.
• Good Engineering based repair skills
• Able to read working drawings. (Responsibilities include the evaluation of drawings and to ensure the implementation according to those specifications)
• MIG Steel and Alloy Welding and TIG and advantage
• Welding qualifications
• Ability to operate basic equipment such as gas and Plasma cutting. Power saw operating.
• Lather, Press Brakes and Guillotine machine knowledge an advantage.
• Motivated and enthusiastic about your work
• Punctual and reliable
• New Zealand citizen, work permit or residency is a must
Your key tasks and responsibilities as a Fitter Welder would include:
• Measuring and marking out work pieces using standard measuring tools
• Cutting materials using grinder cutting discs, guillotine, oxy/acyt gas or plasma cutter
• Cleaning up work materials using hand tools and powered grinder
• Shaping and forming of materials using hand tools, folder or press brake
• Develop layout and plan sequence of operations for fabricating and assembling structural metal products
• Welding steel and/or aluminum using MIG nd TIG
• Equipment assembly
• Assemble old units and perform modification and repair work if required
• Evaluate finished products and perform quality checks on products
• Provide assistance to the production process
• Take instructions and report to Manager and Workshop Foreman's
• Follow all Health and Safety recommendations as per induction process.
This is a full-time role of 44 hours per week with overtime and weekend work available at times.
A remuneration package will be negotiated.
