Transmech NZ Limited requires qualified Mechanic for our busy Auckland Airport based workshop.

Transmech have several positions to fill these positions include Welder Fabricators, Machine operators (Press Brake and Guillotine), General Engineering shop laborer / handyman.

We service a variety of customers and the work is varied.

Please only apply for this position if you meet the following criteria:

• • Experience in the manufacture and repair of Heavy / Light Commercial Transport Equipment
• Current NZ Drivers Licence (Full) HT Drivers License an advantage
• • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Heavy Diesel Mechanical Trade and Trade Qualified Experience in fleet maintenance and fault diagnosis
• • Auto Electrical and Hydraulic knowledge and experience an advantage
• • Motivated and enthusiastic about your work Punctual and reliable
• • Able to work to deadlines, looking for a challenge and able to handle pressure and respond to time restraints
• • New Zealand citizen, work permit or residency is a must, no exceptions
• • have a clear understanding of the English language.
• • We are a progressive company with a great team and atmosphere. This is a full time role. Applicant needs to be open to working at least 2 Saturday mornings every month. We can offer some afterhours work and if applicant is suitable, can be considered for rostered 24 Hour on call afterhours breakdowns.

A remuneration package will be negotiated dependent on the attributes outlined above.

Tasks Include: detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations reassembling engines and parts after being repaired testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance Repair of Panel work and Painting and advantage Knowledge and ability to weld an advantage Experience with Airport Airside Vehicles
