We are looking for a motivated, experienced, friendly assistant manager to join our team at a growing restaurant in Christchurch City. As the Assistant Manager of the Restaurant, You will be assisting Restaurant Manager with day to day operations of the Restaurant and therefore we need someone who has experience and knowledge in all areas of management and is competent to work independently in the role.  This is a hands-on management position requiring you to lead from the front, motivate your team while ensuring customers receive outstanding service and quality at all times. Complete all the duties and official work assigned by Restaurant Manager.

We are looking for someone who will have:

• Previous relevant work experience at least 1 year within a hospitality industry
• Qualification in hospitality would be preferred
• Ability to manage relationship with customers, suppliers and staff.
• Ability to work independently.
• Responsible for conducting day-to-day management of the restaurant under the guidance of the Restaurant Manager. Running shifts and coordinating the FOH in the absence of Restaurant Manager.
• Second in Charge for the FOH working directly under the Restaurant manager.
• Working in conjunction with the Head Chef.
• Ability to order stock and supplies and control inventory.
• To manage a very busy restaurant environment calmly and with control
• Maintain budget and employee records
• Excellent knowledge of wines, spirits and cocktails are must
• Excellent communication skills
• Be responsible for running shifts in the Managers absence
• Train staff and drive performance
• Current LCQ and Managers Certificate

This role will require someone who can work flexible hours, including late night, weekends and public holidays. You must have a clean criminal history and have no history of dishonesty.
