Background Experience

Candidates for this position will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced hospitality setting, with at least 1 year of managerial experience overseeing the operation of a restaurant and bar. Thorough knowledge of craft beer is also required for this role.


Skills & Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications to enable them to commence carrying out this role immediately:

- Current Manager’s Certificate

- Licence Controller Qualification

- Class 4 Gaming Harm Minimisation Training Certificate

- Knowledge in craft beer

- Competent barista skills

- Proven ability to organise and carry out hospitality functions, including larger bookings

- Marketing and/or advertising experience in the hospitality sector, preferably with social media

- Proven ability to oversee and manage staff training

- Proven ability to ensure health and safety standards are met, particularly in relation to the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015

- Proven hospitality management skills, including the maintenance and management of stock and beverage levels

The Role The Food, Beverage and Function Manager’s duties and responsibilities will include, but not be restricted to, the following:

- Ensuring the prompt and efficient service of all meals, snacks, beverages and functions

- Ensuring profit margins are maintained and agreed costs are not exceeded through effective control systems including: auditing against dockets, sales analysis, menu costings and cash checks

- Ensuring staff are always correctly and smartly dressed, that they offer professional and courteous service to their customers, and that they comply with the general standards of the business

- Ensuring maximum security in all areas under your control and that staff are fully aware of the importance of key security - Ensuring company and statutory hygiene standards are maintained in all areas

- Taking necessary steps in the event of theft, burglary or fire

- Ensuring reports and administration requirements are promptly submitted

- Ensuring back-of-house departments operate effectively and efficiently

- Partaking in regular performance appraisals with all management staff, identifying areas for development and training needs and ensure this training is effected

- Being fully conversant with all statutory requirements regarding food and beverage operation, ensuring that all licenses including special licenses are applied for and the conditions affecting the issue of a liquor license are not jeopardised

- Maintaining the company's online presence, in regards to the updating of the website and social media accounts

- Running promotion and marketing campaigns

- Organising and overseeing functions
