Spoon & Paddle cafe

experienced cafe Chef/Cook Required, free in the evening ( we are not operating in night time)

We have a full-time position available in our busy café. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, cafe experience, be able to work at a fast pace and very importantly, a happy team player. This is a day position 7:00 am to 3.00pm 5 days per week. The duties include: Some cabinet food production breakfast and lunch service. 2+ years’ experience minimum (preferably in the cafe scene) • Speed – fast enough to keep up with the pace whilst maintaining quality, always • Professionalism – a proud chef, career driven & looking for a long term role. • Health & Safety – possess necessary training/certifications • Work autonomously – be the master of your kitchen whilst working with the cafe manager • Presentation – exemplary dress and hygiene every shift • Delegation – aces in their places, use your kitchen to staff so that the kitchen works at its most efficient and effective • Supervision – encourage the training of your staff & help them to progress • Plan daily prep lists to avoid sold-outs & food waste • Stock control & ordering – minimum waste, maximum expediting. Keep food costs = down & quality/efficiency = up. • Clean – boast the cleanest kitchen in NZ by performing daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning deep cleaning. • Your work ethic will never compromise, & this is the example you shall set food prep and kitchen cleanliness.
