Description :

We are a newly opened shop, specialized in sushi and donburi in a bustling shopping centre. Since one of our great staffs has travel plans abroad, now we are looking for other chefs essential to customer satisfaction and should be able to work in a terribly busy kitchen.

Job description:

-Carry out all kitchen works addressed by the head chef.

-Always keep kitchen area clean and protect from contamination.

-Maintain an inventory of all the ingredients and packaging use together with replacement requirements.

-Carry out all such duties as are necessary to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of business.

-Order ingredients, kitchen supplies and equipment when required by the employer.

-Prepare and cook hot food dishes.

-Create a contemporary sushi menu with various main ingredients and raw fish and meat (for example, salmon and chicken, beef, pork)

-Demonstrate techniques to cook and advise on cooking procedures to the other employee when necessary.

-Duties will be vary and changeable from time to time.

A successful candidate must have:

-Proven sushi and sashimi preparation experience preferred

-Must have good English communication skill

-Strong organisation skills

-Maintain a clean, safe, and tidy work environment at all time

-Have excellent physical and mental health

-Flexibility to work rostered shifts including weekends and evenings.

-Team player with the ability to work well under pressure

-Prepare sauces for hot meal and sushi.

-Check out the daily checklist provided in accordance with Food Control Plan.

Additional Information:

-Must have a minimum of 3 years of work experience on Japanese cuisine as a chef.

-Must hold cookery level 4 or higher qualification.

-Applicants for this position must hold NZ Citizenship, residency or a valid work visa.

-Basic Food & Hygiene NZQA Certificate holders preferred (or must be able to obtain if required)
