The company: Based in Hamilton, Dairy Goat Co-operative is a manufacturer, developer and exporter of premium, niche, consumer packaged nutritional powders. It is one of the region's leading exporters, serving international markets via its marketing partners and joint venture relationships. The markets are located primarily in Asia and Europe.

The job: This is a dynamic role that spends a lot of time out and about in our manufacturing plants. The Quality Technician's key responsibility is for carrying out efficient and accurate sub sampling of products, pathogen surveillance activities and sensory and functionality testing within specified requirements. As a member of the Quality Team, other responsibilities include operator verification or auditing activities and contributing to the continuing development of DGC quality systems.

Day to day responsibilities include:

• Carrying out product sampling accurately and efficiently as per DGC specifications

• Conducting accurate quality assessments of products manufactured

• Ensuring the completion of sensory testing is within requirements

• Communicating results to plant promptly within the required timeframe

• Preparing swabs and documentation for weekly pathogen activities

• Correctly setting up documentation to ensure correct sampling is performed

Key skills and experience required: You will be a self-motivated team player who can demonstrate a quality and customer focus. You will possess excellent communication, time management and organisational skills and have a reasonable level of physical fitness. This is a fantastic role for someone wishing to kick-start a career in the dairy industry. Full training provided within a friendly and supportive team.
