Medirest (our healthcare brand) provides specialist food, hospitality and support services to residents and patients in hospitals and senior living facilities throughout New Zealand.
So, that's a little bit about what we do, now to 'what will you be doing with us?'
We are looking for an enthusiastic Chef to assist with the management of our team at our Senior Living site in Hillsborough, Auckland. Hours of work are, full time 40 hours over 7 days.
This role is for someone that is responsible, reliable, honest and consistent in delivering high quality food. Flexibility is a must in regard to rosters and function catering. Previous experience in a café, carvery and a la carte environment is preferred. Being friendly and approachable is essential for this role.
In this position you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of meals according to specific dietary requirements and dietitian recipes and ensuring the quality of every dish we serve! You will need to be able to deliver the menus while maintaining food cost as well as ensuring the health and wellbeing of our customers through allergen and nutrition management.
Our Perfect team member:
As our perfect candidate, you will already have at least 3 years' proven work experience in a similar chef position and you will hold food safety certificates (Unit Standard 167 and 168). Being computer literate is a must. You will have a confident and creative cooking style with a strong emphasis on quality and presentation and be a great communicator. You will competently juggle multiple demands within a challenging environment but most importantly you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.
