Listed on behalf of our client Dante Fishing Limited  - Nelson. A number of full-time position has become available for a Deck Hand to serve on a medium-sized trawler vessel for a 12-month period. Normal deckhand duties, also include handling and unloading the catch and deck and general vessel cleaning duties. If you have net mending and wire splicing skills that would be great. Experience of at least six months experience for this position. If you have NZ Deckhand Qualifications or equivalent that would be a definite advantage. You will be out at sea for up to 10 days. Start Date -Late October 2023 The workplace and living areas are confined situations. We operate on a strictly no violence, no abuse, and no aggressive behavior basis. Remuneration will be based on experience and qualifications on the traditional % of catch share system with a base rate of $27.70 per hour. Must be physically strong and fit, as there is some heavy lifting involved. You must agree to both our random drug testing program and a limited criminal police clearance process.
